  • Costume & Dressmaker Press — Publishes & sells a few costume related books, including Drea Leed's "The Well Dress'd Peasant." Also sells issues of a magazine called "Costume & Dressmaker Magazine."
  • Cantu Lace — Italian publishers who have a line of books on Cantu lace and a video on how to make it. The first volume of the books is on Venetian lace. Subsequent volumes will be on Rosaline, Milanese and Spanish laces, and more.
  • Old Sturbridge Village gift shop Updated 08/2007 — Has books, fabric, etc. 1830s concentration. Also check out Old Sturbridge Village website.
  • Poison Pen Press — Books on medieval cookery, costuming, and domestic aspects of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
  • Quite Specific Media — Costume & Fashion Press — Costume and fashion books, including the new "Tudor Tailor" (out April 2006), "Costume in Detail", "The Medieval Tailor's Assistant", Janet Arnold's books, Alcega's "Tailor's Pattern Book 1589", and more.
  • RL Shep books — Books on costume, textiles, etc. He carries a large selection of costuming books (the items on the website are rotated), so contact him to see if he has or can get a book that you want.
  • Sally Queen & Assoc. — Historic fashion articles, books, calendars, etc. New book out in 2006 "Clothing and Textiles Collections in the United States: A CSA Field Guide" which lists information on 2600+ museums, universities and historic sites which have textile collections.
  • Unicorn Limited (was Scot Press) — Books on Scottish, Celtic and Viking topics.
  • Tutu.Com — Besides selling custom made tutus, they also sell books and patterns on dance costuming.
  • The Workman's Guide - at Piper Publishing — A reproduction of a women's work book from the early 19th century. A great book with patterns, sewing instructions and more.
